Adirondack colleges join forces to reduce cost of higher education
Area institutions aim to attract and retain students in the region
Paul Smiths, N.Y. (05/16/2017) —Two area colleges signed an agreement last week enabling all past and future North Country Community College graduates to enroll at Paul Smith's College at a significantly discounted tuition rate. The agreement reflects both colleges' commitments to attract and retain students and alumni in the region.
NCCC graduates who enroll at Paul Smith's full time would pay no more than $8,000 per year in tuition under the new Tuition Scholarship Program.
"We're excited to collaborate with North Country Community College on this program," said Cathy Dove, president of Paul Smith's College. "The partnership is an example of how public and private colleges can work together to benefit the entire region and make college affordable for its residents. NCCC attracts excellent students who fit in perfectly at Paul Smith's. This agreement provides them with a convenient and affordable option to earn their bachelor's degrees while remaining in the area."
"We are proud of this new initiative because this collaboration between NCCC and Paul Smiths College is another example of our two institutions' working together to increase access to a higher education credential," said Steve Tyrell, president of North Country Community College. "A number of current NCCC students and recent alumni have already reached out to us about attending Paul Smiths College for their baccalaureate degree. Paul Smiths College is recognized as one of the finest private colleges in the Northeast region; so what better way to reward our graduates than with the opportunity to attend Paul Smiths College!"
NCCC alumni should email email@example.com or call 800-421-2605 to learn more about the program.
