Paul Smith's College announces Management program

Paul Smiths, NY (06/26/2018) — Paul Smith's College now offers a new Management program, a four-year bachelor's of science degree with three dynamic concentrations within.

Students undertaking this course of study can choose focus on business management, entrepreneurship, or sports and event marketing, while another option includes selecting coursework from across the three to complete the degree.

The sports and events management track is among many efforts under the college's Olympic sports initiative, which also includes an expansion of athletic and recreational programs for athletes, as well as regional connections to world class events that take place year-round.

Entrepreneurially, small business owners are the economic engine of the North Country, where students can learn first-hand the risks and rewards of business ownership. The college's ties to large-scale organizations also affords students the chance to pursue work that exhibits best business practices. In the past, students in the Semester in Residency program have worked for companies including Disney, Ritz Carlton, World of Beer and others.

"I am extremely pleased with the Paul Smith's college is taking with this new Management degree," said Dr. Diane Litynski. "The three individual tracks are positioned well for the mission of the college, its physical location, and the opportunities available for students. This degree continues the Paul Smith's tradition of providing immersion, experiential education in an academic setting. Great prospects are ahead."
