Michelle Bright wins scholarship at Paul Smith's College competition

2016 Mar 25

Michelle Bright, a student at Stamford Central School, won a full-tuition scholarship to Paul Smith's College after participating in the Presidential Scholarship competition on campus.

Bright, of South Kortright, N.Y., was one of 69 competitors at the event, which was held on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Contestants participated in a group challenge as part of the competition. They created a short story and acted out a play based on a list of words and pictures they were given. The students also participated in a one-on-one interview with a college representative and wrote an essay.

Scholarship awards ranged between $1,000 and full tuition. Recipients who choose to attend Paul Smith's are eligible to receive the scholarships annually for as long as they are enrolled.
