Award-winning journalist to address Paul Smith's College graduates
Paul Smiths, N.Y. (04/05/2017) — An Emmy-award-winning sports reporter will deliver the keynote address at the 70th Commencement exercises at Paul Smith's College Saturday, May 6, at 11 a.m.
Jeané Coakley joined SportsNet New York in 2010 as an anchor and sports reporter. She contributes to SNY's sports and entertainment news shows, including "SportsNite," "Daily News Live" and "Loud Mouths." She also serves as SNY's lead New York Jets beat reporter.
Before joining SNY, Coakley worked at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana. While at WISH-TV, she covered all sports including the Colts, Pacers, Indianapolis 500, Brickyard 400, Big Ten football and basketball. She has flown with the Blue Angels and skydived with the Army's Golden Knights.
Coakley has also won numerous Associated Press awards. A New York state native, she graduated magna cum laude at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. In 2015, she was named as a distinguished alum.
She currently resides in Manhattan with her husband and son.
