Brosseau will oversee the strategic direction and operation of the VIC

Paul Smiths, NY (11/21/2024) — Paul Smith's College announced today that Bill Brosseau has been named Director of the Paul Smith's College Visitor Interpretive Center (the VIC) located north of the Paul Smith's College campus, on NYS Route 30.

Starting immediately, Brosseau will oversee the strategic direction and operation of the VIC as well as oversee operations at John Dillon Park, the region's only fully accessible campground located on State Route 30, north of the hamlet of Long Lake, NY. Brosseau will move from his present position at the College as the Deputy Director of the Adirondack Watershed Institute (AWI) to his role at the VIC.

Brosseau served as the Conservation Director with EarthCorps, an international conservation corps focused on ecological restoration and leadership development in the Pacific Northwest for 17 years before coming to Paul Smith's College in 2022. Brosseau worked for the Adirondack Mountain Club for many years and currently serves on ADK's board of directors.

"Bill's background in education and interpretation, his passion of equitable stewardship of land and water, and his deep connection to the Adirondacks makes him the perfect fit for this role," said Dan Kelting, President of Paul Smith's College. "We're confident Bill will lead the VIC and John Dillon Park in exciting directions that will benefit our campus community and the public."

Brosseau is a graduate of Paul Smith's College. Additionally, he earned his BS in Natural Resources Management from SUNY ESF, in Syracuse, NY, and a MS in Nonprofit and Organizational Management from Antioch University New England, in Keene, NH.

The Paul Smith's College Visitor's Interpretive Center is open Wednesday-Sunday, 9:00am-5:00pm through the fall. During ski season, the VIC is open 7 days a week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Trails are open from dawn to dusk.
