Weatherup Family Gives More Than $1.25 Million to Support Paul Smith's College Students
Gifts will strengthen student support, enhance experience for students and their families
PAUL SMITHS, N.Y. (10/08/2026) — Craig and Connie Weatherup and their family have given more than $1.25 million to Paul Smith's College, making a significant investment in the students, programs, and campus experiences that define the College. The gifts include a $1 million commitment from Craig and Connie Weatherup to strengthen student support services and provide sustaining support for the College.
"We know that a student's experience at college is shaped by much more than what happens in the classroom," said Craig Weatherup. "Having the right support in place can make a real difference when a student is making an important decision or working through a challenge. Connie and I are proud to support that part of the student experience and make sure students have what they need to thrive here."
The Weatherups' support comes as Paul Smith's continues to see growing interest from students and increasing investment from its community. The College welcomed its third consecutive larger incoming class this fall and is building new opportunities for students across its academic programs and campus enterprises.
"We are grateful to the Weatherup family for believing in Paul Smith's College and investing in our students," said President Dan Kelting. "Their support comes at an important time for the College. We are growing, we are building new opportunities for students, and we are seeing more people step forward to help make those opportunities possible."
As part of the family's broader support for the College, Brock Weatherup also led a family-wide effort to redesign Student Financial Services in the Phelps Smith Building. The project has been completed, creating a more welcoming and accessible space where students and families can meet with Financial Aid and Student Accounts staff.
The College will recognize the Weatherup family's gifts during an October 16 community event held ahead of its Board of Trustees meeting.
