State Sen. Betty Little to address Paul Smith's College graduates
Paul Smiths, NY (04/26/2019) — State Sen. Betty Little, of New York's 45th Senate District, will deliver the keynote address for Paul Smith's College's 72nd Commencement on Saturday, May 11.
Little, whose service spans Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Warren and parts of St. Lawrence and Washington counties, has long been supportive of the college. Her efforts have included the securing of funding for tick-borne disease research and the college's School of Logging, a summer program that received a $300,000 grant and a visit from Little in 2017. Little has also helped the Paul Smith's College VIC through state budget funding.
"Commencement at Paul Smith's College is such a memorable moment for students and their families and friends," said Little. "Representing the college as state senator and also having served as a trustee, I am humbled by the opportunity to share in the students' special day. I look forward to seeing these young adults, now well-prepared to shape their own futures as well as ours, cross the stage and embark on the new journeys that await them."
Little was first elected to the state senate in 2002 after having spent seven years in the state assembly. The Glens Falls native is a member of a number of committees including Environmental Conservation; Women's Issues; Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation; and Education.
Commencement will be held on the college's Great Lawn and begin at 11 a.m. More information is available at paulsmiths.edu/about/commencement.
